THE ENWHE TECHNOLOGICAL BREAKTHROUGH IN CHALLENGING SHELL FIELD. – AUGUST 2023.
Segofs achieved a fundamental breakthrough by seamlessly transmitting real-time drilling data to client’s sub-sea team in a remote location via Segofs RT (real-time) viewer. This was done by merging Segofs RT viewer and Shell’s RT viewing platform which enabled the client’s geoscience department make decisions on the fly without affecting drilling time.
In spite of client concerns regarding losses, loose formations and surface gases experienced while drilling previous wellbores in this field, Segofs deployed her PowerPlus (Mud Motor) and ScorePulse (Resistivity Tool) in the 16 inch hole section to achieve excellent performance. Segofs Navigator RSS and ScorePulse were used to drill the 12.25 inch hole section to TD.
The excellent performance of the tools and personnel were highlighted by the client’s on-site supervisor and remote sub-surface team.
